GPS Lock Taking Too Long? Try Google Location Server supl.google.com

David
If you can I would be interested in giving this version a test. Do you think that a navigation subscription will be overwritten when this is installed?
it seems a great improvement
One thing I'd really like to see it do is store locaiton points while on the move in a single data file, which I can then export/send/upload to a system I could very easily create to plot my journey on Google/Yahoo maps.
I did this with a PocketPC w/ external gps a while ago on geepster.com
It was able to set if the points are captured over time or distance. Very handy.
Hoping to see the ability to add GPS data (optionally) in to the EXIF data of the photos at some stage too.
the one that I downloaded seems to function mostly OK. It does not have the 3 day trial
The only problem I have found is that at some point when either zooming out or in the app freezes for about a minute
hopefully this will be resolver with the proper release

Cheers,
Alex
NOTE: I have also installed the N95 update for Nokia Maps.
I would like to give it a test run, then post blog about the result on my blog site.
Thanks.
Jay
Good news. I am currently using Route66, but I prefer the design of Nokia maps.
Could you be so kind to send me this version to test it in Belgium? ;)
Thanks in advance,

I have just got off the phone to Nokia who informed me that there is no reason that the update is not available.
They stated that the website is being updated and this is the reason that it has "vanished"
Hopefully they will take some action and update the site soon.
Regards
Stu
PS: if anyone already has the update please email it to me at stuie4187@hotmail.com
Have been using the Nokia maps app with the N95, but it has it's problems.
1. going from home to work it takes me across country (18.2 miles - 59 Minutes) but when going the other way it takes me on the motorway, (18.2 miles - 29 Minutes).
I would like to try the new app to see if this is fixed, and report the problem if is not fixed. Also do you know how to report MAP and APP problems to?
Cheers
I would like to try this new version if possible.
Kind regards
Thanks,
Adam.
I'd love to give a test to.
Would really appreciate it.
THANKS
Thanks in advance.

TIA
I'd love it if you could send me a copy.
Thank you so much, great blog.
Joe.
I decided to get v12 of nokias firmware to see if it had this new map application like Joe did. Im really desperate to give it a try so please could you send it to me? Sorry if you have been swampped by requests :-p
My address is omarc786@hotmail.com and when I get it i will not share it with anyone :)
Thanks a lot!
Omar
Its no problem, Do you know why there are currently 2 versions, 1.1 and a 3.0? I know 3.0 arrived with the v12 firmware and 1.0 was the one with version 10 or 11 (Can't remember!)
Re: Why the update was withdrawn, I have this from Nokia (22/6/07):
"The version which was available for short time was not yet tested enough and there where still some bugs which limit the full functionality of the software."
And regarding the date for the re-release of the update, I have this from them on 5/7/07)
"the update has not been released yet due to some internal
decisions. Currently, we do not yet know when exactly the update will be released. However, it is for sure that will be released by the end of August at the latest, but I'm looking forward that it will be released earlier already."
"We will release an update soon in which the routing has been improved a lot."
It will be great if you could send me this software, thanks in advance
Eldar

i installed the update nokia maps and one section is in german... whats going on????
its the"nearby" section...
it only happens when i have my "use network" settings to 'when needed'
but if its on 'never' then its back to english... i want to leave it on.
Nokia Maps got simulation, whats the point, simulation is very slow, i wish they can make it possible to change speed or at least change speed to 120 KM/h
...or make time variable, something to make simulation quicker after all it is simulation.

I've just downloaded this via their website. I'm not a beta tester or anyone special. This update is available to all through the smart2go website (www.smart2go.com).
Please check it out and enjoy, it looks like a good update.

7I bought my Nokia 6110 Navigator in September. The map was preloaded and found it to be quite slow. I would like to try this new version if possible, before I buy it.
Kind regards
